In 2012, I was recovering from hip surgery and transitioning out of my professional performance career when I found the Yoga Six Studio in St. Louis. I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of what this company was creating: a space for an empowering movement practice with an uplifting culture. After a year as a committed student, I decided to take a leap and complete the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. Concurrently, I began working the front desk as a Student Advisor and teaching classes. In 2014, I became the Studio Manager of the St. Louis location and fell in love with training team members. As a result I became the Training Manager for the company the following year, crafting the Operational Training processes and materials for Studio Managers and Student Advisors. Shortly after helping open the Gold Coast studio in 2015, a Regional Manager position opened to oversee our 5 expansion markets. I applied for the role and subsequently became the Regional Manager of the Growth Markets hiring, training, opening, and now overseeing our studios in St. Louis, Columbus, Leawood, and Milwaukee. I am incredibly grateful to work in an organization that values growth and integrity as much as Yoga Six.
My journey with Yoga Six started in 2012 shortly after completing my 200 Hour Teacher Training. I was filled with the passion to teach and just knew I wanted to be surrounded by a strong yoga community as much as possible to help this passion flourish. I was guided to Yoga Six through a friend and started working as a Student Advisor, then transitioned to teaching full time; and in 2015, I was hired as the Program Manager for Yoga Six in 4S Ranch. I have also been fortunate enough to co-lead Teacher Trainings with Katie Brauer and witness firsthand how transformational the science and art of yoga can be in so many lives. I am beyond grateful to have found Yoga Six and the amazing people who make it thrive; the opportunity for growth and evolution here, as well as the sense of community support and accountability continue to inspire me on a daily basis.
I discovered yoga in 2000 and played with the idea of getting certified to teach for several years. After 13 years working as a Project Manager in the software and internet industry I finally took a leap of faith. I completed the Yoga Six 200-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training in 2013 and jumped into teaching full time. In 2015, Yoga Six offered me the position as Program Manager for the Solana Beach studio, and asked me to help open the Kansas City studio. My role has expanded even more since then. I was promoted to Studio Manager in February, 2016 and am currently responsible for programming and operations in our Solana Beach studio.
My journey with Yoga Six started shortly after I finished my first Yoga Teacher Training in 2013. At the time I had been a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for several years, but yoga was new to me. I loved it and began teaching almost immediately. By August of 2014 I was teaching full-time, and helping Yoga Six open new locations in Chicago and Midwest. This resulted in a promotion to Program Manager, where I managed the yoga side of our business for both the 4S Ranch and Carlsbad studios. I've also been able to take my love for teaching into new teacher education. I now travel throughout the country teaching the anatomy portion of our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. In May 2016 I was promoted to Studio Manager in Carlsbad.
I began taking classes as a student at Yoga Six 4S Ranch in the summer of 2013. Soon after, a Student Advisor position opened up and I applied because I loved the community environment. Later that year, I was promoted to Assistant Studio Manager, and took Yoga Six's 200-hour teacher training. In 2015, I decided to pursue my love for fashion and started taking classes at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising). Luckily I was able to grow with Yoga Six as well. I'm now a Retail Specialist for the San Diego region. Yoga Six has given me the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
