Ashton was introduced to yoga by his ju jitsu sensei when he was twelve years old. Over the years his practice grew from something he did to keep his body healthy into something that transformed every aspect of his life. In 2006, after completing his first yoga teacher training with Peri Ness (Synergy Yoga), he packed up his belongings and left America on a one way ticket to Asia. Over the following six and a half years he lived in countries such as Thailand, India, China and Peru while studying with yogis, shamans, saints and sages. He took additional yoga teacher trainings with David Goulet (Chakra Yoga) and Leeann Carey.
Having also practiced massage for more than two decades, Ashton brings a wealth of knowledge of the human body into each of his classes. Even though his classes can be challenging, his attention to awareness of breath and alignment helps students to feel safe in their practice and free to explore at whatever pace they feel most appropriate. He invites each of us to engage our practice in such a way that it becomes a means of more fully living the depths of our lives. He teaches workshops and teacher trainings in the US and abroad, and is a ERYT 200 through Yoga Alliance.
