Let’s move! Slow Flow classes connect accessible yoga postures with breath and fluid movement in a well-rounded practice. With a slower pace, there’s time to explore individual postures so that new students can build confidence and familiarity, while more experienced students can refine fundamentals of alignment and explore deeper sensations. Flow is a combination of accessible poses, fluid movement and breath. Over the course of 60 minutes you will move through a series of poses that gently engage and open all the major muscle groups. Spinal integrity is a key area of emphasis in this class. The 6 movements of the spine – left and right side bending and twisting, forward flexion and extension – are incorporated into every Flow, contributing to spinal health, improved posture and overall well-being.
Energy, Spinal Integrity, Reduced Stress
Flow is a Vinyasa Yoga inspired class. Moving your body to the rhythm of your breath promotes circulation. The increase in fresh, oxygenated blood delivered to your muscles, organs and bones energizes the entire body. Class is creatively sequenced by the teacher and different every time. Generally speaking there are few Sun Salutations in this class.
Flow has wide appeal at Yoga Six. It is a great class for newer students and a fantastic option for those who do not like practicing in heat. As a studio, we firmly believe in the benefit of props (blocks and straps). Every student is given 2 blocks and a strap at the beginning of class. Experienced students taking flow always have the option to take on more advanced posture variations.
Like Deep Stretch, Flow is an all levels class and the perfect place to begin a yoga practice. That said, walking into a new studio or yoga class for the first time can be intimidating.
